Headstone Rules and Regulations

ALL NEW FOUNDATIONS MUST BE PAID FOR EITHER BEFORE OR AT THE TIME OF DELIVERY.

NO EXCEPTIONS.

Any headstone that is going to have polished sides, whether matching or new must have a signed waiver which must be in the possession of the cemetery either before or at the time of delivery. This includes stones with polished uppers on slants and tablet style stones.

A $25 permit fee must be paid directly to the synagogue, accompanied by a sketch of the proposed monument.

Foot stones are not permitted unless they match immediate relatives, (mother, wife, husband, father, sister, brother or are a part of a family plot) where the existing plots of the interned have a foot stone.

Sections 3, E,F,G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N:
Require headstones no larger than 2ft. X 1 ft. X 1 ft. with all sides being rock cut.
Double stones not are permitted. Stones must have flat or oval tops.
A 4” margin for inscription is permissible on the front of the stone.

Section A,B,C,D, PS-0CB, PS-OCC, PS-OCD:
Require all headstones to be a 18” slant on 6” base.
Must have rock cut sides.
Double headstones are permitted.

Sections 4,5,6,7,7A,7B,7C, 8,9,10:
Require all headstones to be a 18” slant on 6” base.
Must have rock cut sides.
Double headstones are permitted.

Permission may be granted to match an existing spouse’s headstone even if it deviates from approved guidelines. The deviation must be approved by the synagogue representative(s) and the cemetery board.

A waiver must be signed if the headstones are to be all polished, have polished uppers on slants, contain a 4” margin for an inscription and/or polished tablet style stones. No porcelain pictures are permitted.

Sections BA-OCC, BA-OCB, BA-OCD:
Require all new headstones to be a 18” slant on a 6” base.
Must have rock cut sides.
Double headstones are permitted.

****Exceptions are made only for graves in the designated Madorsky Section of Zemach Zedek****

*Headstones are to be pillow style, 2’X1’X1’, Red Wausau Granite with all polished sides. Letters are to be raised and tooled.

Waiver must be signed for polished sided stones. Questions can be directed to the cemetery directly.

Permission may be granted to match an existing spouse’s stone even if it deviates from the approved guidelines. This deviation must be approved by the synagogue representative(s) and the cemetery board.

Required all new headstones to be a 18” slant on a 6” base with rock cut sides ,unless you are matching a deceased spouses headstone.
A waiver must be signed for polished sides on the upper slant.

Permission may be granted to match an existing spouse’s stone even if it deviates from the approved guidelines. This deviation must be approved by the synagogue representative(s) and the cemetery board.
